iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Generation Refurbished
Get iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Generation Refurbished for just $175.99 (may changed soon due to popularity of this item). This iPod Touch covers some flaws that you might notice when you have purchased the iPod first generation.
The iPod Touch now have a more slick and rounded design on the back and also lose some weight, making it look slimmer and more “iPhone style” than before. Good grip and feel right in palm thanks to those ergonomic design. Damn, those back plate is still made from stainless steel so it is “still” vulnerable to scratches and fingerprints. But the good thing is the glass on the front appears to be absolutely scratch resistant.
The touch screen is just great. It’s bright, crisp, got the right contrast, and smartly adapt it’s brightness to ambient light for your viewing convenience. Unfortunately, like its predecessor it’s become difficult to read in direct sunlight. The screen is very responsive and will survive a full year along with metallic objects on your pockets such as keys.
The screen resolution better than the iPod Classic (480×320), but interesting enough, ripping videos to this resolution isn’t any better than 320×240 (the old iPod Classic). So to conserve some memory, try to rip videos to 320×240 only. The video is crisp but with no contrast control and the audio playback is just what you expect to be on iPod which is above average for untrained ears.
I’ve found out that the iPod 2nd Generation is still missing a search function and can’t enable ‘hard drive mode’ (this would be great if you are using iPod Touch as a mass storage device). The biggest improvement to iPod Touch would be the battery life.
