Zoom H2 Handy Recorder Review
Zoom H2 Handy Recorder must be an improvement from H4, from which I have a bad experience. I borrowed Zoom H4 from a friend and found it very frustrating to use. The owners manual just incomprehensible to me. I could not make heads or tails of the instructions. It was a totally frustrating and I was ready to resign to make a CD, and ready to return to the old cassette tape recordings.
I took the opportunity on the Zoom H2 and not sorry for that. All the pains of the head H4 were addressed with the H2. This machine is much easier to use. I’m using to record live music and chain that does a wonderful job. Sounds great! I’m not a geek or an egg-head team, nor am I an engineer in professional audio recording, and I feel very comfortable using this machine.
Zoom should have listened to people complain all the H4 when they designed the Zoom H2 Handy Recorder.
These are the technical aspect of Zoom H2:
- W-XY mic patterns with 4 mic capsules and signal processing allows Front 90 cardioid, Rear 120 cardioid and 360 polar patterns
- Finally record 360 sound as 2ch data or 4ch data simultaneously
- Built-in USB 2.0 port for data storage
- Records in WAV 96kHz/48kHz/44.1kHz at 16-bit or 24-bit, MP3 to 320kbps and Variable Bit Rate (VBR) data formats
- Time Stamp and Track Marker functions in Broadcast WAV Format (BWF)
